Welcome To The Tribe Of Duel
Long ago, eight teens sought to escape the superficial hustle and bustle of modern America. The friends set out from their homes, and eventually came to a perfect place in South America. There they set up a community centered around the game of Duel Monsters, with no modern conveniences like electricity or guns, called simply the Tribe Of Duel.
Gradually, others like them drifted in, whether by chance or by choice, and the Tribe Of Duel became a large, flourishing civilization. People were seperated into six ranks, named after a gemstone and an animal: Emerald Dragon, Ruby Phoenix, Topaz Snake, Diamond Wolf, Obsidian Tiger, and Sapphire Seberin.
One fateful day, a freak accident caused the tribe Of Duel's land to seperate from the rest of South America, thrusting it out into the Pacific Ocean. Shocked and confused, the Tribe Of Duel broke apart. The Emerald Dragon Tribe took control of the jungle. The Ruby Phoenix Tribe chose the mountains. The Diamond Wolf Tribe made its home in the rocky foothills at the mountains' base. The Obsidian Tiger Tribe won the forests of the three mountain-born rivers. The Sapphire Seberin Tribe was left the swamp forests.
The Topaz Snake rank was scattered to the outlying area, which was rocky and barren, to eke a life in eternal hardship. They hated the tribes for ruining them, and turned to dark ways, to Shadow Games.
The founders ended up leaders, called Keepers, of various Tribes. Bridgette and Markie ruled Obsidian Tiger, Briane led Ruby Phoenix, Derik and Akazi presided over Diamond Wolf, Kathrin and krow controlled Sapphire Seberin, and Timmey was Keeper of Emerald Dragon. Eventually they died, but the Tribes continued on the same as always, fighting and Dueling and living.
But the remnants of Topaz Snake had not been idle. They began to attack the Tribes, both with weapons and with near-invincible cards. A hero from Sapphire Seberin, a girl named Cimarron Ryder, rose up and united the Tribes against the Forces Of Midnight (as the attackers had come to be called). It was a spectacular victory. . . . or so they thought.
Many years later, evil Duelists have begun to invade once again, and each attack is more devastating than the last. But the Tribes prefer to ignore the growing threat outside their borders, and continue warring with one another, unknowingly opening the way for the "Dark Duelists" to deal more damage.
And amidst all the carnage, the long-awaited Prophecy has finally begun. The ten Duel Gods have appeared as Card Spirits to their Chosen- A boy and a girl of each Tribe. They must learn how to work together and awaken their powers if the Tribes are to endure...
