Sandpool blinked sleep out of her eyes. She heaved herself on her hunches and started to groom her calico coat. It felt strange since her toungue was dry. Somewhat dry and just simply weird. Sandpool finished her grooming, she walked over to her herb stock. She eyed the herbs for a moment aand needed to gather some herbs. Sandpool needed Marigold, Comfrey, Jupiner, and some Water Mint. Sandpool walked over to Pearlpaw and prodded her with a paw. "Pearlpaw! Get up! Meet me at the camp entrance. Sandpool walked out of her den and walked out over to the camp entrance and sat down. She waited patiently for Pearlpaw.

Pearlpaw yawned and streached her paws. She padded out of the den, blinking in the harsh sunlight. Was it that late already? She shook her head, clearing her mind. She saw a rabbit laying on the fresh kill pile, and grabbed it as she walked over to Sandpool. "Morning Sandpool," she meowed. "I brought a rabbit, what's up?" she bent down and took a small bite of the hare. It wasn't nearly as good as a fish, but it woke her up. She wondered what Sandpool wanted, and where they were going.

Sandpool looked at Pearlpaw with a grin. "First of all I thought we could go and gather some herbs. Your almost ready to take your place as medicine cat. But we will do about 2 or 3 more moons of learning, then I will be moving to the elders den." Sandpool meowed. She wondered bent down and licked Pearlpaw's head. " I am getting old dear!" Sandpool laughed. Though she knew as well as any cat who looked at her could tell she was getting ready to join the elders for a while until it was time to join StarClan.

Pearlpaw rolled her eyes. "You are not old." she instisted. But she stood and kneeded the ground eagerly. "Let's go!" She looked at the calico expectingly. Together they headed out into the forest. "Where to?" she asked looking around. "And what herbs are we looking for?" she hoped that she knew which ones they were.

Sandpool looked at Pearlpaw. " I am getting old dear. You know as well as I do that I am not very young. Well let me put it this way. If I were a warrior,I would be a senior warrior, thinking about retiring before long." Sandpool meowed. She flicked Pearlpaw with her tail. She answered Pearkpaw's questions. " The rabbit stretch. I want to train you outside today and quiz you." Sandpool meowed.

Pearlpaw ignored Sandpool's coment on her age, maybe giving in, and bounded with delight. "The rabit streach? I've never been there, have I? What herbs are we looking for?" she gazed at her mentor, blue eyes wide with exitement. She scented the air, partly out of habit perhaps. She shivered. The harsh wind had suddenly rose and buffeted her fur. "I wish it wasn't cold out." she complained.

Pearlpaw bounded up to catch up with the calico medicen cat. She nodded, and began sniffing the air expectently. "Merigold, catnip and juniper." she recited under her breath, the words making little puffs in the frosty morning air. Soon she picked up a strong scent of something, but not a herb. Rabit. Then a sweeter smell reached her tiny nose. Catmint! She followed the thin scent. She tryed to remember it perfectly, iriistable, sweet, with a hint of sharpness, like being cuffed on the ear durring training. She soon stumbed across a small patch of catmint, some newer than others. "Sandpool!" she called.
