(Just if you want to post with me I want to get the clan going.)
Sorrelstar sighed, almost as alone as she was outside. Fireclan was very small, and even Sorrel herself was an extremely new leader to the clan, even if she'd lived there her entire life. Even so, the den was perfect. One would think such a place would need more maintenance, but there was just the cushy bed that sometimes needed the moss lining switched. A rare smile gave her away as she continued on towards the door, checking the camp. After all, she might be receiving more visitors soon.
The camp was in good condition, but even so Sorrelstar decided to up the freshkill pile a little. After all, it was nearly lunchtime, and she was hungry: there was no way she would go eat without feeding the clan. Sorrel struck out into the woods, melting into a hunting crouch expert despite her youth. Her nose was working overtime, struck by the abundance of prey available. Sorrelstar was granted her favorite quarry, rabbit, and so began the stalking.
Sneaky as always, Sorrel's circuitous route allowed her to come up quite close to the rabbit. It scented her, and the chase was off. Lean muscles allowed Sorrel to push out of a hunting crouch and merely bound a few steps before closing her jaws around the rabbits neck, granting it instantaneous death. After giving thanks, Sorrelstar prowled back to camp and the freshkill pile, glad to be of use. At least there was no risk of overhunting, Sorrel thought wryly.
Once this was done, Sorrel picked out a small bird from the pile and carried it back towards her den. Crunching it as thoroughly as possible, burying the bones, and even taking the time to regroom her face and then her entire self, it was clear that Sorrelstar was reaching for something to do. Anything to distract herself from the waiting. This clan would be so much better if there was just one other person, her brain chirped, and so Sorrel tried to shut it up with a mouthful of hair. Perhaps someone would visit her soon, distract her and even give her some ideas for the clan.
