A shriek of pure terror. An ocean far way from home. The stars twinkled over luna's black splotched face. It was over. All over. She screamed and ran to her dead mate's unmoving body. "SCOUT!" she screamed into the dark night. All was wrong in front of the great ocean. Luna sniffled and cried over the dead tom's heroic figure that was now laying limp in the grainy sand. Luna was deprived of her significant other for eternity. She looked to the violet skies. Each star flickered mysteriously at the young she cat, as if they knew something that she didn't. The stars were annoying. She rested her eyes back to her soul mate's crumpled body. His soft tabby coat was drenched and smelled of fish and His gorgeous green eyes staring to the sky. If she didn't see the murder herself she would have thought of him as star gazing. But that wasn't the case. Luna's amber eyes flickered to the dock where the rogues pushed him off. She hissed at the wooden structure. Under the dock her kits mewed helplessly. They'd have to wait. Their father was dead and their mother was too busy grieving to give them milk. She returned her thoughts to scout. The she-cat licked his face and smiled. Luna would never forget him. Where'd she place his body to rest? Somewhere far far away from his death site. THAT was certain. She dragged the corpse to a creek far away from the beach. there she buried for a long time and placed him in the hole. Luna then buried the grave and put a nearby flower on the grave. The she cat returned to mewling kits.
Three lunas past and the mother was nearly finished with feeding the kit's with milk. They already started to talk. The saddest thing about the litter was their missing father. Marsh's first words were, where's dah. His brother, Whirlwind could care less and spoke of milk. The last son was too scared to speak for a long time. He finally told luna he was cold. Her three sons had totally different personalities. Marsh looked exactly like his father but the personality of his bold mother. Whirlwind was a momma's boy with jealous side. He's slender and quick unlike his bulky brothers. The last one, Saylem, was the most introverted in the litter. He was a dull gray color with his father's gorgeous eyes. He was deeply afraid of the world. Soon they'd have to live without her. She cried many nights over this but they could not follow her path with her.
Saylem walked over to his mother when she stared at the ground with watery eyes. He always knew when something was wrong. " Mother what's wrong?" He said with his father's eyes glimmering. " You know I love you more than ANYthing in this world!" luna felt a tear drop from her amber eyes. Saylem's presence was not reassuring at ALL. Her amber eyes met jade and her life seemed to crumple. She looked back down at her paws. The longer that her most affectionate son stayed the more depressed she became. "w-where's you br-br brothers? " She asked him with bright tears rolling down her cheeks. He nodded his head towards the beach. There they were play fighting in the golden sand. The sand that touched her dead mate's body. She looked back to the ground with tears falling harder from her face. "Go play with them, NOW!" She screamed. Poor Saylem didn't know he did something wrong and cowered to the beach. She laid her black and white face to the sandy floor and cried herself to sleep. Her dream was dreadfully vivid. A million cat ghosts watched her in a cave with a shiny rock. Where was she?! this place was NOT in her memory. A blue-gray she-cat stepped forward. "Luna we are ready for you," the cat whispered. Luna stared for what seemed like hours until words finally appeared. " what-what are you ready for me to do?! Who are you?! Wh-where am I?" She stuttered with confusion. The cat expected this to happen so she smiled. " It is time for you to guide the warrior's of Shadowclan. We are in the moonstone, and I am Bluestar." Luna was twice as confused as before. "what is this Shadowclan?! The she cat still smiled, "Your new home." Luna did a double take. " To follow your destiny you must leave all you love behind you and be guided by the moon...." The mother made a confused face and wondered what a "moon" was. "Wait Bluestar! What is a moon?" She was sure that she had never heard that term before. " The thing you were named after....." The mysterious cat replied mischievously and she soon vanished. Luna walked out of the cave and looked up. The luna was directly above her head and a long way in the distance, a coniferous forest was highlighted by a ray of lunalight. Was that her new home?
The loner woke up with a gasp. Each of her sons cuddled next to her mother adoringly. It was impossible to not disturb them but somehow she did it. Luna walked into the creek and caught five fish. She laid them at her sons' paws. All were asleep and calm. When they woke up their mother would be long gone. They'd be forced to learn how to fish on their own. All luna could hope for was the best. She walked for horas and horas until the sun came up. By now her kits would be awake and confused. She decided it was time to rest. The she cat walked into a tire and instantly fell asleep. luckily no disturbing dreams were there. The black splotched she-cat woke up and the moon/luna shown brightly. It was time to travel once more. For many many long weeks she walked. Luna was beginning to lose all hope in this new home that she abandoned her kits to get to. But her energy was soon ignited when she seen the forest of her dreams. That Bluestar was right and she certainly was not a hallucination. She was home at last. All it took was a little determination and the loner got safely to her home. Luckily a moss bed was already set up in a sweet smelling den. But she was definitely not alone. Luna detected the smells of cats around the camp. Sadly she'd not live as a peaceful loner here. The mother sighed and got some rest. She'd meet these cats much later. Right now she deserved some sleep.
